Mortgages are like injections, we'd like to go through our lives without any, but unfortunately, most of us will need one or two along the way.. To continue with the analogy, much like injections, mortgages dont need to be painful, it depends upon the care and experience of the person at the other end of the needle!

You have the option to administer your own medicine; there are plenty of price comparison sites on the internet that will allow you to choose from thousands of products. Or, you can read up on the many Best Buy Tables in Money sections of most newspapers. However, very few, if any, of these comparison tools or tables take into account the vagaries of lenders and consider the full extent of your personal circumstances. So the hours spent pouring over mortgage tables, completing data capture forms (and fending off the numerous unwanted calls from unknown brokers that have been sold your details) to select the product you decided upon are wasted when you receive the "computer says no" response.

You could of course go to the bank where you hold your current account and choose from one of their products. Quite honestly would you shop in a supermarket that only sold own brand products and then only a limited number of lines? If you wanted premium brand baked beans would you settle for second rate spaghetti hoops? We apologise for mixing up our metaphors to get our point across.

It's not surprising that, even in the current climate with significantly restricted choice, most people still use the services of a Professional Mortgage Advisor. We generally carry the widest range of products and if we can't get the right one we are happy to admit it and point you in the right direction, because, actually it's as much about service as it knowledge.

We dont need to advertise that you get a named advisor when asking us for help, or that our phone service is UK based, because we always provide one to one, tailored advice, and if you prefer, meeting you face to face to talk it through t a time and place that suits you.

So, you can choose your medicine - DIY, take something convenient that might not be totally effective, or, see an experienced consultant and take a prescription that's right for you.
